Feb 29, 2008 3.60 Added PDF (single or multi-page) and JPEG (single page) to the Export Fax screen. (available to registered users only)
Added built in scan-to-fax, improved scanning technology from previous Scan-To-Fax utility. (available to registered users only)
Dec 13, 2007 3.41 Adds the correct file extension when exporting a fax to TIF, BMP etc., if the user forgot to add the file extension when saving

Modified the way Configuration Info is presented - this will help support better diagnose problems

Updated SDE61.DLL for Portuguese Windows problem
Oct 13, 2007 3.40 If a fax was created in low resolution, or a fax was received in low resolution, and a cover page was used, the fax would show as stretched width-wise, because the cover is always created in high resolution. If this situation is detected now, the cover will be reduced to match the resolution of the fax. (this did not effect sending or faxes, just viewing).

When editing a fax with a cover sheet, if just clicking Edit and then Save, without changing the cover sheet text, the cover sheet would not be saved.
May 22, 2007 3.39 New more efficient memory manager

Receive grid was losing its filter setting when receiving a new fax. Fixed.

Jan 3, 2007 3.38 Added a fix for rare "floating point" error when printing to certain HP Color Laserjets over a network.

Added Preference item #22c - "Automatically stop/resume receive mode when sending". Turn this on if you want MightyFax to automatically stop receive mode when you click the send button, and then restart receive mode when you are done sending (but only if currently in receive mode). The default is for this to be enabled.
Nov 2, 2006 3.37 When entering/editing a phone book entry from the printer driver dialog box, accented characters ( å, ä, ö etc) were sometimes being translated wrongly. The file MFNTCTL.EXE is replaced to fix this.

When printing a fax that was less than full page size, it was always stretched, even when the "Stretch/shrink faxes to fit on page" option was unchecked. Fixed.
Oct 2, 2006 3.36 Fixed memory leak when viewing faxes.

Fixed an error with printing fax logs when selecting "Only Archived Faxes"
Aug 23, 2006 3.35 Multiline text was not working properly for the coversheet editor. Now works properly.

June 22, 2006 3.33 Fixed some issues with the new Import Phonebook tool
May 8, 2006 3.32 Fax Viewer now gives clearer representation of fax with graphics

New menu option File > Import Phonebook Entries. This implements importing from comma-delimited ( CSV ) files. ( Most Windows programs, including Outlook, can export their phonebooks in CSV format. )
Jan 18, 2006 3.31 On the "Incoming Faxes" tab, the "View" and "Sort by" filters were not working. This has now been fixed.
Jan 11, 2006 3.30 Added Receive Incoming Fax Now - Call currently in progress (manual receive) option as both a dropdown menu option on the Receive button, and as a main menu option. Use this method when you share the same line for voice and faxing, answering all incoming calls with a telephone, and you have answered the telephone and hear a fax tone. (see Help file for expanded instructions and description)

Enhanced the main screen toolbars and menus with additional icons as a visual aid

Changed Cover Sheet Template Designer most recently used file list so that it will auto-correct its file list if the MightyFax folder has been manually moved

Nov 1, 2005 3.21 Updated install to recognize Windows Vista (aka Longhorn). Note: MightyFax will not install in Vista at this time.
Additional small tweaks to interface.
Sep 10, 2005 3.20 Fixes a problem with the installer where it was not seeing the entire Windows PATH and in some cases was warning about a missing path element (WBEM) that was actually there. (note: If you already have Mightyfax installed, then you did not have this problem and do not need this update)
July 27,2005 3.19 Internal changes were made to the way the MightyFax "Print to Fax" tray application/icon interacts with the main Mightyfax program. This can prevent 'hangs' in some situations, when starting MightyFax from the tray application, or from the printer driver.  This is an optional update - get it only if you are having this specific problem. (W2K/XP version only).
May 13, 2005 3.18 Fixes an unnecessary (but harmless) message shown when creating a fax (problem was only with XP Home where it had not been upgraded to service pack 2).

When installing, checks that the Windows Spooler service is running, and advises the user if it is not. (the spooler service is required when installing a printer driver of any kind)

Fixed a text overlap problem in the fax error window when using large fonts

Changes to printer driver to work more smoothly with XP when there are multiple users on the same machine. Also should help with "stuck" print jobs in the MightyFax Printer Driver.

Blank cover sheets revisited. Fixes a problem when the user has their Windows color scheme set to use white or light text, which would cause the cover sheets to come out white text on white - i.e. blank.

3.09

Sending Faxes: When sending a fax, the status screen is no longer "stay-on-top" of all windows, and the application can also be minimized when sending a fax.

Receiving Faxes: Faxes which have not been viewed or printed are now shown in Bold on the Received Fax grid, and there is also a new grid column which says "NEW" if the received fax has not yet been viewed or printed. Printing or Viewing the fax removes the "new" status.

Receiving Faxes: There is a new option (Preferences #21b) "Show a visual notification window when a fax is received". If this is checked, whenever a fax is received a small window will pop up to notify you that you have new faxes. The window will stay visible until closed. Note: for backwards compatibility, this option is checked off by default.

Help File: Brand New help file in the modern Windows HTML Help style. Completely rewritten (.CHM).

Jan 9, 2004

3.08

The Uninstall now offers both remove and repair. The repair option offers to repair the MightyFax program files, or just the printer driver, or both. The Remove option offers to remove all of MightyFax, or just the printer driver (for cases where you only want to re-install the printer driver, such as for a corrupted driver file)

In addition, the Installation program adds an additional link in the program group to "Repair or reinstall MightyFax" (see above).

MightyFax now has startup "Did you know..." type tips. (Tip Of The Day). The option to show these up startup is easily turned off and on with a checkbox on the dialog box. You can look at these at any time by selecting Help > Show Tip Of The Day

An option to Show Hints has been added to the help menu. Tips (aka Tooltips) are the little yellow explanatory notes that pop up to describe a button or other onscreen item when the mouse passes over it.

When a copy of MightyFax is already running and the user clicks on the MightyFax icon again, the program now attempts to bring the existing instance of the program into view, and no longer displays the database error message.

2.9z Build 10

Small change to account for timing problems with some really fast Pentium 4s

Apr 27, 2003

2.9z Build 9

1. " at " was left out between the date and time when auto-printing received faxes and using the "Print Header" option.

2. A new option has been added to the Preferences > Advanced tab. 'Use alternate Cover Sheet generation method (if you are getting blank cover sheets)' . Check this if you are getting blank cover sheets. (XP only)

Apr 9, 2003

2.9z Build 8

1. Fixes a rare problem that could cause cover sheets to be generated as blank pages

2. (XP Only) Checks the Windows PATH before installing to be sure it includes the Windows\System32\Wbem directory, which is required to programmatically install a printer driver.

3. Fixes a rare problem which could cause the MFNT.EXE program to hang when installing MightyFax.

4. Includes a workaround for an XP bug that can cause an error when printing to the MightyFax Printer Driver from Quickbooks, TurboTax and a few others. Note: If you already have MightyFax installed, you should go to the downloads page and get the download marked "Printer Driver PaperPort Patch".

10-30-02

2.9z build 7

1. Fixes a bug when using the Phone book from the Mightyfax Printer Driver. On some windows ME systems (and possibly some Windows 98 systems) it would appear to lock up at this point. Note: this does not apply to the Windows NT/W2K/XP version of MightyFax.

2. Fixed a rare bug where MightyFax would display "List index out of bounds" at startup. This applies to all platforms.

3. Fixed an uncommon problem where Windows 2000 or Windows XP would return incorrect path information when attempting to install the MightyFax Printer Driver. This would result in a "Windows driver support files not installed" error message. Applies to Windows 2000 and Windows XP platforms only.

4-24-02

2.9z - build 6

This fixes an obscure bug under certain versions of NT, including Windows XP, where there are different date format settings under the Administrator account than there are under the User account. This resulted in MightyFax using the wrong date format to display the dates faxes were sent. (Note: the date is correct, but the display format could be wrong)

3-01-02

2.9z - build 5

NEW: Alternate method to access modems. This release adds the ability to access modems from the Windows Modem list rather than using the Communications Port directly. For example, it lets you select the U.S. Robotics 56K FAX EXT modem from a list, rather than choosing com ports such as COM1 or COM2 etc. This is also known as TAPI access, and will work in many cases where direct communication port access will not. This is becoming a more common occurrence with Windows XP, where many of the modem drivers are only supporting access via the TAPI method.

Lots of additional instant-help buttons on the Preferences screen

Fix for a rare occurrence where the computer would crash and leave MightyFax’s window off-screen, and there was no way to restore it back to the screen.

12-05-01

2.9z - build 4

increases the amount of time it waits when testing for a modem. In some rare cases the modem was taking quite a long time to answer. The wait time has been increased from 3 seconds to 6 seconds.

10-15-01

the Cover Sheet Template Designer now has the ability to add logos (i.e. graphics) to the cover sheet, as well as a new multiline text tool.

added advanced settings on Preferences > Advanced relating to using larger send and receive buffers. May be helpful in some instances with software modems or winmodems that are having problems sending or receiving.

added fields for 'Your Company' and 'Your Voice Number' on the Preferences screen (item #7). Also added a clarifying note explaining what these are used for.

added a check for MightyFax as default print-on-receipt printer for received faxes, and automatically change it to 'Default Windows Printer'.

added several diagnostic entries to Configuration Information screen.

MightyFax installation now backs up MF.EXE if there is a previous version in place. This can be used to downgrade to the previous version if desired by copying the MF.EXE file back to the main MightyFax folder.

In rare instances there was a problem with fax cleanup handling 'all faxes before <date>' type requests. This is now fixed.

4-27-00

2.9v

fixed a small glitch that would cause the print settings (i.e. use header, use footer etc) to not be saved in a some instances.

added another advanced setting under Preferences (has to do with how incoming faxes are named - not for the average user).

fixed a small glitch in fax viewer.

revised advanced switch that attempts to correct the mysterious (but rare) 'enhanced font is too large' error.
