Attention current owners - SERIAL NUMBER CHANGE
If you already have a MightyFax serial number, purchased prior to February 29, 2008, please go to the Serial Number Lookup Request page and request a new serial number (no charge). We have recently changed serial number format, due to increased software piracy. MightyFax version 3.60 (and above) now uses a more robust licensing system and requires a new serial number. If your serial number looks like "RKS-01234567" then you definitely need a new serial number.

30-Day Trial Version of Mightyfax

Try our software program free for 30 days. Download the program installation file from one of the download links above, and then run the file to install the program. The installation program will place a program icon on your desktop. To start the program, simply click the program icon. Try the program free for 30 days.

The trial version and the registered version are the same program. The only difference is that in trial mode, the main program features (i.e. faxing) will be disabled after 30 days if you haven't purchased the program by then. Additional non-critical features may be disabled during the trial period - for instance scan-to-fax and exporting.

When you purchase the program, you are purchasing a User Name and Serial Number to license the program and to remove the 30-day trial mode limitation from the program. Your User Name and Serial Number will be emailed to you once your payment has been processed, and you may then use this to unlock the Trial Version for permanent use - you do not have to download anything else.

Updating/upgrading for Existing MightyFax Users

To upgrade or replace your registered copy, you need to download and install the latest Trial Version of the program from one of the download links above. The Trial Version installation program contains everything needed to update or replace your registered copy of the program. Please review and follow these steps:

1. If upgrading, first determine if there is a newer version. The current version is always shown on the MightyFax version history page. To determine the version of the program you are now using, click Help About on the program's main menu.

2. In general we do not recommend upgrading any of our products unless you have particular problems which have been addressed, or you need specific features which have been added. We like to follow the "If it works, don't fix it" rule.

3. Before any major action such as an upgrade, be sure to BACKUP the complete directory of the program you are upgrading. Mistakes happen, and only a complete backup can provide complete assurance that recovery can be done if needed.

4. Once you have downloaded the correct Trial Version from the download links above, continue with either step #5 or #6 below.

5. If you are updating the version currently on your computer, simply install the trial version over top of your existing registered version (same drive, directory, etc). It will automatically recognize the registration and will then become a fully registered version. Data and files will remain intact.

6. If you are moving to a NEW COMPUTER or REINSTALLING after a hard drive crash (i.e. there is no existing copy of MightyFax on the computer), then simply install the trial version on the new computer. Then follow the directions previously sent in the email containing your "registered name and serial number", using the same registration information (serial number etc) as previously sent. If you have lost your original registration information (name and serial number) please use our Serial Number Lookup Request form.

7. Please note: We do not offer technical support for switching operating systems without a new purchase. If you previously purchased and used the software on Windows XP, Windows 98, etc, and you will be needing technical assistance for installing or using the product on on a new operating system (i.e. Vista), then you will need to make a new purchase. The same applies to switching computers - if you need technical assistance with this, you will need to purchase a new copy.

AOL Users

AOL USERS: AOL has been having sporadic download problems recently resulting in incomplete downloads. What happens is that AOL cuts off the download before it is complete, and gives you no warning message. If you experience this, try the following:

  • Delete the incomplete file and try the download again, using one of the alternate download links.
  • Try downloading using Internet Explorer or Netscape rather than the browser built into AOL
